Professional cross-border meeting “Performing arts in the digital era”

On the 28th and 29th September 2011, the Plataforma Convivencia Pirineos Mediterráneo(Pyrenees Mediterranean Cohabitation Platform) with the collaboration of the International Theatre and Dance Fair of Huesca will organise the professional cross-border meeting “Performing Arts in the Digital Era”.  These two days are framed within a professional dynamic that encompasses the four regions (Aragon, Catalonia, Languedoc-Rousillon and Midi-Pyrénées).  The aim, over these days, is to reflect upon the adaptation of the performing arts sector to the new scenarios generated by the development of new technologies, as well as to present work outlines to capture audiences and disseminate the shows, from the viewpoint of the companies and of the programmers.

Wednesday, 28th September

  • 9.00 Reception of those attending
  • 9.15 Opening ceremony
  • 9.30 – 11.00 Keynote conference. Patxi Larrañaga. Director of the National Centre of Show Technology (INAEM). Theatrical critic.
  • 11.00 – 11.30 Coffee break
  • 11.30 – 13.30 Workshop.  The ten most common errors in online communication in the performing arts sector.
    Speaker: Montse Peñarroya, expert in digital marketing in the cultural sector.

 

Thursday, 29th September

  • 9.30 – 11.00    Presentation + round table.  Round table: Performing on digital stages.

    Round table, with the intervention of:
    • The vision of the artist. Jean- Marc Matos.
    • The vision of the institution. Patxi Larrañaga
    • The vision of the programmer. Speaker to be confirmed
  • 11.00 – 11.30 Coffee break
  • 11:30. – 12.30   Panel of companies with technological projects applicable to the performing arts area for them to have a dissemination possibility.
  • 12.30 – 13.30 Panel of experiences + discussion. Hanging from the digital threads: online work experience.
    With the intervention of:
    • Annie Abrahams, artist who questions the possibilities and limits of communication, using both the video, performance and the Internet.
    • Iguazel Elhombre, communication head of Embocadura S.L., expert in social networks.
    • Gaspard Bebié, from the Kawenga space for creation, mediation, training and dissemination of digital arts (Montpellier)

Pyrenees Mediterranean Cohabitation– A cross-border platform for cultural cooperation is a tool at the service of cultural agents to prepare and disseminate cultural cooperation projects in the cross-border regions of Aragon, Catalonia, Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées.  The objectives pursued by the Pyrenees Mediterranean Cohabitation are: to foster networking of cultural operators from the four regions; to foster professional and artistic mobility in the cross-border area, and to boost dynamism of cultural economy in the cross-border space.
